Thiepval to Tyne Cot 100 miles (22 – 25 July 2017)

100 Mile Charity Walk

The 31st July 2017 will mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the 3rd Battle of Ypres more commonly known as Passchendaele.  We intend to mark this occasion and remember all those who took part in the battles by marching 100 miles from the Thiepval Memorial along the battlefields eventually finishing at Tyne Cot Cemetery.

100 miles for  100 years.

We will march from the 1916 battlefields and be moving on to the battlefields of 1917.  It is and is meant to be a challenging 4 days finishing at Tyne Cot Cemetery on the morning of 25th July and raising money for a fantastic charity who have been continuously supporting veterans since 1919.

Every step will be an effort especially with wearing the same uniform and kit as in 1917 but its in memory of their actions that drive us on to help those veterans of today. Not all wounds are visible and it was during the Great War that shell shock would eventually recognised as an condition that required treatment.

Five of the participants taking part have over 140 years of military service and ask you to generously support this unique event.
