Stow Maries WW1 Airfield
Over the weekend of the 22/23 July we attended the Stow Maries Great War Event in Maldon, Essex. From The Great War Society, 10th Essex, and the Royal Navy Bluejackets to The Great War Channel, Sea to Somme cavalry horses, the Short Brothers and WW1 Aviation artist Graham Turner’s exhibition, the public were treated to a real piece of World War 1 history.
We setup a typical training camp of the period which the soldiers would attended before heading overseas to the front line.
There was also a spectacular display of vintage aircraft aerobatics over the two day event, with demonstrations from The Turbulent and Stomp Display teams, the BE2 and a very rare outing from one of the UK’s only Bristol Scouts.
